Swap This Movie Snack for That
These 6 easy movie night snack swaps focus on more Whole Foods vs Processed
With all these fantastic movies and shows coming out, a good movie night is easy to do over and over again. Sometimes, my movie times are in between my meals, or I want just a little snack. Here are a few ways I make swaps from processed, sugary, and salty foods for ones that are more whole food options and, honestly, better for my digestive system. I'm a get-to-the-point type of gal, so here you go.
# 1 Movie Style Popcorn for Lightly Salted Popcorn 🍿
# 2 Chips for Hummus and Carrots 🥕 (or Celery)
# 3 Candy for Greek Yogurt Parfait 🍑
# 4 Soda for Sparkling Flavored Water 🍋
# 5 Trail for Cold Grapes 🍇 (add a few Chocolate chips)
# 6 Fries for Apples 🍎 with Peanut Butter
Choosing less processed food options and replacing them with more nutritious (nutrient-dense) options will help you achieve your weight loss goals, maintain your current weight, and be kinder to your insides.
Have you seen the new trend? People are making popcorn on their stoves with 3 ingredients. Corn 🌽 kernels, light oil or butter, and light salt to taste. 😋
Keep Nutrient-dense Foods Handy
Nutrient-dense foods are foods that are high in nutrients but relatively low in calories. These foods are packed with essential vitamins, minerals, fiber, and other nutrients that our bodies need to function properly. Examples of nutrient-dense foods include fruits, vegetables, whole grains, lean proteins, and healthy fats.
The Importance of Consuming Nutrient-Dense Foods
It is important to consume nutrient-dense foods because they provide our bodies with the necessary nutrients to maintain good health and prevent chronic diseases. Nutrient-dense foods can help improve our immune system, support healthy digestion, and reduce the risk of heart disease, cancer, and other health problems. Additionally, consuming nutrient-dense foods can help us feel full and satisfied, which can help us maintain a healthy weight.
